The Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department has received a FEMA grant at the amount of $230,000 and more for the purchase of a new 3,000 gallon Tanker as well as equipment needed for the vehicle.
The acquisition of the new Tanker will also help lower the ISO rating for the Edgewood service area.
Tankers in the county act as hydrants, while during a call they're used to carry water to a fire.
Edgewood VFD would like to show appreciation to Seagrave Fire Apparatus of Rock Hill, SC. for the manufacturing of Tanker 6.
